To borrow a phrase from the tweens: YOU ARE AWESOME! WSP Families together with families from Parkway High School Northwest have given generously to our holiday toy drive to benefit children and families in the Philadelphia area who are served by Youth Services, Inc. WSP and Parkway High School Northwest here on campus have been collaborating on this project by collecting new toys. But what makes a donation a gift is the excitement of unwrapping it! To light up the eyes and warm the hearts of our “giftees” last Friday we had a party to wrap gifts after school.
Youth Services Inc’s executive director, Gwendolyn Bailey, joined the party. For nearly 60 years, Youth Service, Inc. has worked to strengthen the family unit, help at-risk teens and to promote child safety. YSI offers a 24-hour crisis nursery program for children up to age 5, parent support, and safe shelter for homeless and runaway children. Many of the families served by YSI are in crisis or in transition and providing the basic necessities is uppermost in their minds. Let’s show our neighbors how big our hearts are this winter holiday season by helping to make their holiday bright. Now that’s AWESOME!!!
