Lizzie Bastian and Amy Phillips, WSP Class of 2007, have recently been accepted into the National Honor Society. The National Honor Society is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921. Amy and Lizzie are Juniors at Central High School . Lizzie is the sister of Audrey and Clifford in 8th Grade and Amy is 7th Grader Erin’s sister.
In addition, Lizzie was just awarded the Gold Key Award, the highest level of achievement on the regional level, by the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers an organization that has been celebrating the creative achievement of America’s teens since 1923, offering recognition and scholarships for artistic talents. Lizzie created a jacket made of woven magazine pages which is an amazing feat of creative construction. The jacket will be forwarded to New York for national adjudication.
Congratulations to both Lizzie and Amy.
